Dan and Regina Bumstead
Almost 10 years ago God began to speak to Regina and me about adopting an African child. We were just in the throes of planting a community church at the time, and it seemed bad timing for God to interrupt us in this way. But we ended up moving to the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere for 5 months with our family, found a little girl and had the adoption process all but completed when she suddenly went to be with Jesus. We were shaken, but trusting God. We came home and started the church and led it for the next 8 years. But God kept speaking to us about orphans - of which our little one was an example of millions, who have no hope for survival and no one to bring them to Love’s Door where Jesus lives. So as we pastored this church, we kept going to Africa to serve orphans - eventually starting an organization called Love’s Door. Finally in 2006 God told us to move to Africa and serve full time.
So the week before we left our home (Feb 2007) Floyd came to our church to speak. We talked, and when in Africa, came to visit his new residence in Cape Town. We did not think we needed more schooling, but decided to come to CPX to join All Nations as our sending organization for a base in Zambia. We did not know how helpful the year of training would be for our work. It was just what we needed.
Right now we are on staff at All Nations, Cape Town, leading a group of CPX students - doing house church together, doing application of the teaching in the poor townships, and eventually going into Zambia for 2 1/2 month outreach where we will lay a footprint of what we hope will be our future base of ministry. After CPX is finished we will move up there full time and begin the work with whom ever God would bring to join us. To read more about us visit http://www.danandregina.org/
