Mike and Kalyn Arndt
Mike:
I grew up in California and met Jesus in the formative teenage years of my life. He rescued me from rebellion and all of the pathways that lead to destruction. He gripped my heart for the kingdom. The kindness of God led me to Oral Roberts University for schooling where I met Kalyn, my wife, who became my joy and my song.
Kalyn:
I gave my life to Jesus at a young age, but at 16 years old I had a near death experience which changed my life forever. I have my degrees in Music and love worship. I taught High School Music and Drama, and owned a studio where I gave private singing lessons.
Together we had an amazing family of 5 children surrounded with grace, kindness, and life giving relationships that cultivated in a heart for the Kingdom. In our family life, as mom and dad, we experienced the glory of the Lord. And He said, “Get ready, this is just the beginning—the real family is the church.” After an unbelievable journey for 30 years in home life, helping lead a rich fellowship, and blessed beyond measure with a great jobs, family and friends, in 2007 the Father gave us a new, adventuresome opportunity: South Africa and beyond.
We visited in mid-2007 and we could not get Africa out of our hearts. We sold our home and the furnishings and moved to Cape Town in November, 2007. We were blessed and sent by all of our family and many of our friends. God is good. Always. We want more of His Kingdom.
