T4T in Action in Zambia
When a local man is given the opportunity to run a Bible study, amazing breakthroughs arrive.
When we met Cosmas a few weeks ago he told me he didn’t own a Bible and he didn’t attend church. – A very rare thing for someone in his village. The first time I met him and told him what God was doing in the world with Church Planting Movements, and how the gospel is spreading from house to house, he got genuinely excited. I told him that we show people how to study the Word for themselves so they can obey it and teach others, and right there we did a 20 minute T4T. He was so excited, and was pulling all kinds of truths out of the passage. When we came back this week, I asked him if he would like to lead the discussion. I quickly wrote out the A B C’s for him, as well as three questions to help dig into the passage. He did such a great job leading, and the Spirit was really with us as things came alive and we all gained so much from what we were discussing. He loved the way we did the study, and said, “It was so simple and easy to do, but we learned so much!” He committed to read the Bible daily, and said he would invite people next time we meet. We left his house so encouraged!
This was a great example to us of how you start is how you will finish. Because we started with having him pull things from the passage he, more than anyone else I’ve seen here, feels confident to lead the group; even though he didn’t have a Bible before this week.
