Young people’s lives transformed

Shadreck Chirwa is an All Nations Cape Town field worker in Malawi. He shares the Good News of Jesus with his community of Nkhotakhota, planting simple churches who follow Jesus together.

Shadreck shares an encouraging story from this past month:

He met a 19-year-old young man named Thomas last September at a place where young people gather to play music. Shadreck was visiting there for some guitar lessons. Thomas asked Shadreck to show him some guitar basics that day and friendship blossomed.

Thomas asked him many questions and Shadreck was able to share his story with him and tell him about his ministry now. Thomas was busy with high school exams at that time so they couldn’t continue spending time together.

Seven months later, Shadreck runs into Thomas again. “Do you remember what you shared with me when we met?” He asked Shadreck. “No, please remind me,” Shadreck said. So he explained that after their conversation, he had decided to go to his friends in his community and encourage them about Jesus.

Thomas now has a group of 15 that meets every Wednesday to discover Jesus together and pray. He invited Shadreck to visit and encourage the group. Shadreck went and said he was so encouraged to see what the Lord is doing in this group of young men and women. He said it’s a group of humble young visionary leaders.

Thomas said he’s ready for Shadreck to equip him so that he can then equip his group. Shadreck was excited to begin meeting regularly with Thomas for discipleship. Thomas’s vision is to see his community loving Jesus and the youth set free from alcohol abuse.

Please pray with us for Thomas and his community!
