First Connections

This week we were able to really start engaging with the people here. Our interpreter started with us on Monday as we began more intentional visits to people. We have been able to share and quote a few stories and testimonies. We also had opportunities to pray for healing. Our female interpreter was able to join Jessica and Jordan on Saturday. It is a huge blessing to be able to split into groups by gender in order to more effectively reach specific groups of people.Unfortunately, Don had some sort of stomach bug that left him pretty ill for a few days. But, during his visit to the clinic he met a man who was very excited about learning more about the Bible. He basically said, "Please teach me. I want to know the truth." We met with him later in the week, and we will be having our first DBS at his house this coming week! The Lord is faithful to use ALL circumstances for good.We also met two men that were expressing interest in learning more about what the Bible says, but we were slightly hesitant about their motives. However, Don and Machiel had quite an encouraging time with them. They seem pretty hungry for truth even with their solid understanding of the Qur'an. We weren't really sure about how exactly the meeting would go, but it ended up being a short DBS-like study. We are very encouraged from this last week, and we are looking forward to the busy week ahead.
