Prayers for Friends

This week we continued to enjoy the presence of the pastoral visit through Tuesday. It was so refreshing having them here with us. We took a day trip to Lake Malawi on Monday to continue with debrief where we have also enjoyed a wonderful meal together. This was quite a day of rejuvenation. On Tuesday, we said goodbye to Shane and Ewald, and we prepared to jump back into routine. Ramadan started on Monday, and we have noticed a difference in the village. Almost everyone is fasting from sunup to sundown. This has led to some interesting conversations about our relationship to God and what he commands us to do.Don and Machiel have been meeting with a man in the village that paints bicycles. They had shared a story with him earlier during our time here, but he didn't seem to be that spiritually open. They have continued in friendship with him, and last week he asked them to pray for his sick father. Don and Machiel went back to the man's father this week, and he was doing significantly better. Praise God!A close friend came to Jordan and Jessica earlier in the week to tell them that she has been kicked out of the room she had been renting. The landlord of the place had a friend that had previously rented the room, and he wanted it back. This woman is without family in the village, and she is pregnant. The team began really praying for the situation and asking others if they knew of places for rent where she could live. A few days later, the woman was granted permission to stay in her house! We really feel that this was a miracle and that the Lord was faithful in providing a way for her.We cannot believe we have a little over 3 weeks left in the village, but we are so grateful for the time that we have had here!
