I can see clearly now..

Yesterday was an exciting day. Our water tap was finally fixed in our yard! Water, whenever you need it, from a tap! Washing our hands under it is our new favourite activity...This week we also branched out from rice and beans and learned how to make chapatis (although the result was laughed at!) and were blessed by our translator baking banana bread with the ingenious method of using sand around the pan as an oven! It only took 4 hours...Refining our food and drink habits has not been the only common thread of the week. God has reminded us in several ways that he can use challenges or setbacks to reveal himself.  Last week we had a difficult meeting with a group of ladies; we were interrupted half way through by a very argumentative gentleman. One lady, Jane, also sat during the group with her back to us the entire time which was pretty off-putting!When we met up with them again this Saturday we were a little apprehensive, but surprised to see a bunch of joyful, welcoming faces. Jane looked transformed – such a big beautiful smile. During the DBS she shared how thankful she was for the meeting last week and how she had been feeling so angry and down, but that God had really worked in her heart and she was so excited to meet again today. We were humbled and blessed by this – that God was able to use a meeting that by human standards was a disaster, to work in her life.At the same meeting, our translator was very late, so the ladies had called for a friend who could speak English. Twenty minutes of awkward silence and attempted sign language was a challenge! But then a lady from the village came to help us translate. It turned out she was in a desperate situation at her home, and our team – and the group of ladies -  were able to pray with her.We are so grateful God uses every circumstance to draw people to Him and encounter his love. We are ready for the challenges of Week 4!
