The Story of God
Life in Lesotho was in full swing this past week. Our mornings were filled with church and prayer walks. There was someone new to meet everyday. In the afternoons local boys come around, "Asking for the toy" or "Asking for the Lego." This is a famous quote between the four of us now and every time we hear it we brighten up. Living in Lesotho requires flexibility - you never know what's next, and last week surprised us with a heavy thunderstorm followed by three days of extreme cold! There's snow on the mountain to prove it. Most of it's melted by now thanks to the heat.Monday has been a remarkable day for the team. We made an appointment the week before to meet up for a discovery bible study (DBS) with people from a village quite a distance from us.Luke was leading, I (Anzel) was to share the God story (this time around it went much smoother than the **village experience that we had in our training ). But this was no ordinary DBS. When we were there a week ago these people expressed how they would like to worship and asked us if we had any instruments. So, we brought the guitar. It was a beautiful day to gather outside and sing some songs. The ice was broken and it was glorious to see these people come alive in the rays of the Son!As we sang more people joined in and stuck around for the remainder of the DBS. During the God story it was great to see people captivated by the original story God has written and is busy writing with our lives and the countless millions before us and of those who will follow. What a privilege to know we have a part, regardless of how small! The rest of the DBS was led brilliantly by Luke who even did an amazing, relevant spur of the moment illustration of the love of God. We could really sense these people are hungry for more of God. They want to experience His joy.We couldn't but end off with Wahamba Nate, dancing and hugs for everyone around! It's these simple moments that we live for - when JESUS comes and brings us together. **This was a simulated village that was set in our training that we had to engaged and share Jesus with.
