Bringing the father heart of God to the unreached

By Gibson Banda, ANCT field worker

“Though my father and mother forsake me, the LORD will receive me.” - Psalm 27:10

This verse encouraged my life and keeps me strong. I know God is everything to me.

I was born in 1981. Growing up, I experienced a lot of hardships. I was neglected and I was being mistreated. So one day, I climbed a tree. Then I was meditating how God is big, how God created this world. That’s when I heard a voice from the Lord calling me: “I am your father.”

One day I read the Bible verse that says, “Even if your parents, even if your mother, your father mistreat you or deny you, God is your father.” Since I read that verse, it encouraged me because they said even your brothers, even your relatives will forsake you, but God will pick you up. It's when I realized that God is my father. Since that time, I started trusting God more, and trusting God as my father.

One day I went to visit a village to share the Word of God. I met with an old man. He was very sick. I was praying for him. He told me that when I mentioned the name of Jesus, he was feeling very well. He was feeling good. So I asked him, “Have you ever heard about Jesus?” He told me, “No, I haven't heard anything about Jesus.” Since that time I’ve learned there are places where people have never heard anything about Jesus.

Since that time my heart was full of pain. I wanted to share the Word of God. In 2015, I had an opportunity to take the CPx (Church Planting Experience) training in Cape Town. My family and I went to Cape Town to start praying, “How can we disciple? How can we plant churches?” By the grace of God, that CPx training was exactly the ministry that God gave me. I was very happy.

After the training I was sent to save a people, the Yao people here in Malawi. Yao people are native. Ninety-nine percent are Muslim people. So I was sent here to save the Yao people.

God has been faithful to us, to my family since 2015. We are making disciples. We are planting churches. Many people have come to Christ. Many Muslims have now become Christians, and they are also planting churches. This gives me power. This give me a lot of energy. Our ministry is expanding to a lot of districts here in Malawi. God is faithful, God is so amazing, that a person like me, a person who has never seen his father, traveling, going to Kenya, going to different countries, just to teach people how they can plant churches, how they can sustain themselves through the Pioneer Business Planting, how they can share the Word of God through businesses, how they can make disciples.

God is so wonderful to me. I really appreciate what God has done to me, what God's doing to my life.

Thank you so much. I really appreciate serving Jesus through All Nations. Because CPx training has transformed my life, and so all those people were coaching me to grow in Christianity. In the saving name of Christ. May God bless you, family, wherever you are.
