Discipleship training in Mozambique

By Rika Boersma

A few weeks ago, a dream of many years came true.  For many years, circumstances just did not work out and maybe we can even say — it was not time yet.  After many years of praying and dreaming (planting the seeds as to say), discipleship training in the form of a JDx finally happened at All Nations Mozambique. (JDx is All Nations Cape Town’s introductory training, giving a taste of the discipleship and church planting training we further unpack in our flagship training, CPx.)

Llewellyn Oliver reflects on the week end:

“When you make a life changing discovery, you want to share it with everyone.  After finishing CPx [in Cape Town] in July 2019, I just knew that Mozambique needed to have the same experience.  I also knew that it has been a long-term dream that a CPx would be run on Mozambican soil. COVID-19 disrupted our plans for this CPx planned for July 2020. God, in His grace, was not disturbed by this and we realized that He is guiding us towards running a JDx rather. Great was our excitement to welcome 16 students for the weekend of 24 – 25 October for this. We prayed that God would touch the hearts of the students and that they would grasp His heart for the nations.  We also planned that they would go home with one new skill that they could use to make disciples.  We look back and pray that, with the help of their mentors, that each student will be able to start at least one DBS [Discovery Bible Study] group with three or more disciples.  We are encouraged to see how eager they were, to not only learn new things, but also put it in practice.  With our emphasis on worshipping God and obeying His Word, we trust that seed fell on good soil, which will produce good fruit.”

All Nations Mozambique plans to facilitate more training opportunities that will lead into CPx training in 2021. For more information, email general@allnationsmoz.org.
