Meet

One of the guys that fetched us from the beach, the night we arrived in the village became our entrance into this village. He has scheduled a meeting with the chief and His wife helped prepare and cleaned the house we would live in.Our meeting with the chief went well. He is a Christian and very hospitable and gave us permission to stay in this village. We gave him a bible, as a gift and were able to pray for his back problem. He also prayed for us.In this first two weeks we decided to split our team into two groups. We decided that every two weeks we would have different groups. Benjamin and Stephen would focus on the ministry in our village. Apollos and Aswan would focus to reach out to other villages around our village. The other three villages are 1km, 3km and 6km walk from our village. We have enjoyed walking through the villages, prayer walking, making friends and praying for healings.Apollos and Aswan have met two families two of the surrounding villages this week. They are very open and have invited us to have lunch together in their house. We shared a Jesus story with them and they have asked us to come back again.Ben and Stephen have prayed for healing for a couple of people and have also helped in tending people’s wounds with the little medical knowledge we have.Just to give you an idea of our setting: Our village is close to the beach with no internet access. We have some cellphone signal. We have a small breakfast, of fried banana or bread in the morning, with some coffee. We eat our main meal at lunchtime and do not eat dinner as there is not much food in the village. Life here depends on the weather, whether the fisherman goes out to sea and whether people can work in rice fields. The closest market to us is a few hours walk or one and a half hour by motorcycle.
